ICIS/IDN Project in Liberia

Funded in significant part by Emory’s Institute for Developing Nations (IDN), ICIS held a two-day workshop on “Investigating Challenges to Professionalism and Development in Liberian NGOs” at the Cape Hotel, Monrovia, Liberia, on June 10-11, 2008. 

Having suffered the effects of two civil wars lasting almost 15 years, the West African country of Liberia has been the site of massive international aid and recovery efforts over the past five years aimed at rebuilding a devastated infrastructure, economy and society.
