ICIS Home: Area Studies: Emory Tibet Partnership
Through exchanges of faculty and students, the Emory-Tibet Partnership works to provide significant opportunities for Tibetans to gain access to the Western academic tradition. Emory is providing faculty for instruction at Tibetan institutions in the refugee communities in India; the initial offerings were a presentation on modern physics for the monks at Drepung Loseling Monastery in south India, and a semester-long course on Western philosophical thought at the Institute for Buddhist Dialectics in Dharamsala. The Emory-Tibet Partnership is also developing scholarships for outstanding young Tibetan scholars to complete degrees at Emory, taking advantage of the University's academic leadership in a wide variety of fields.
